To optimize the performance and achieve a realistic sound stage with the Focal 936 Floor Standing Speakers, it is recommended to follow these positioning guidelines:
1. Position the speakers symmetrically, facing the listening area, ideally forming an equilateral triangle with it.
2. The speakers should be at the same height, in the same horizontal plane. Ideally, the tweeter should be positioned at the same height as the listener's ear when listening normally.
3. Avoid placing the speakers too close to a corner or wall, as this can excite certain resonances and artificially increase the bass. However, if the bass level is judged to be insufficient, you can try moving the speakers nearer to a wall to rebalance the bass level.
4. For optimal positioning, you can use the formula B^2 = AC, where A is the distance from the center of the woofer to the nearest floor or wall, B is the distance to the next closest floor or wall, and C is the greatest distance. This formula helps define the ideal loudspeaker position.
