To achieve optimal sound quality from the ELAC DB62-BK Bookshelf Speakers, it is recommended to follow these guidelines for speaker placement:
1. Place the speakers approximately one to two feet away from boundaries such as walls and corners. While proximity to a side or rear wall can enhance bass performance, being too close to a corner may result in unnatural bass. If a corner location is unavoidable, try to position the speaker so that the distance to the rear wall is not equal to the distance to the side wall.
2. For stereo setup, create an equilateral triangle between the speakers and your favorite listening position. This setup helps to achieve the best imaging performance.
3. For surround sound setup, avoid placing the surround speakers forward of your listening position. Spread the surround speakers apart wider than the front speakers and elevate them to the same height or slightly higher as the front speakers for a more enveloping sound field. Experiment with positioning by pointing the rear surround speakers towards the listening area.
4. For center speaker setup, position the ELAC DB62-BK Bookshelf Speakers above or below your television, aligning it with the center of the TV. Try to keep the center speaker close to the same level as your front speakers for a more even sound stage. Tilt the center speaker up or down if necessary to aim it towards the listening area.
