To install and set up the ELAC DC62-BK Center Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Choose a level surface: Install the speaker on a level surface to ensure optimal performance.
2. Speaker placement: Place the speaker approximately one to two feet away from boundaries such as walls and corners. This will enhance bass performance while avoiding unnatural bass. If placing the speaker in a corner is unavoidable, try to position it so that the distance to the rear wall is not equal to the distance to the side wall.
3. Stereo setup: If using the speaker in a stereo setup, create an equilateral triangle between the speakers and your listening position. This will provide the best stereo imaging performance. If the speakers are too far apart, angle them (toe in) towards the listening position for a more focused central image.
4. Surround sound setup: If using the speaker in a surround sound setup, avoid placing the surround speakers forward of your listening position. Spread the surround speakers apart wider than the front speakers and elevate them to the same height or slightly higher than the front speakers for an enveloping sound field. Experiment with the positioning by pointing the rear surround speakers towards the listening area.
5. Center speaker setup: Position the ELAC DC62-BK Center Speaker above or below your television, aligning it with the center of the TV. Try to keep the center speaker at the same height as the front speakers for an even sound stage. Tilt the center speaker up or down if necessary to aim it towards the listening area. Set the receiver/processor center channel size to small for optimal results.
