To install the Wolo EE100 Electronic Industrial Horn, follow these steps:
1. Remove the factory horn and select the same location to install the EE100. It is recommended to face the horn downward to prevent dirt and water from entering.
2. Drill a 5/8" hole at the selected location and insert the provided bolt into the hole. Thread the nut/lock washer onto the bolt, leaving two to three turns.
3. Slide the horn onto the head of the bolt using the slotted track on the side of the EE100.
4. Secure the horn to the vehicle by tightening the nut/lock washer.
For wiring, there are three different scenarios depending on your vehicle's existing horn system:
1. TWO (2) TERMINAL WIRING (Replacement Installation, for vehicles with an existing horn system):
- Transfer the factory horn wires to the power plug provided with the EE100.
- Connect the RED WIRE of the power plug to the vehicle's horn wire that is (+) positive.
- Connect the BLACK WIRE of the power plug to the vehicle's horn wire that is (-) negative.
- Make sure to use a 3-amp inline fuse in the horn circuit for protection.
2. ONE (1) TERMINAL WIRING (Replacement Installation, for vehicles with an existing horn system):
- Transfer the factory horn wire to the power plug provided with the EE100.
- Connect the RED WIRE of the power plug to the vehicle's horn wire that is (+) positive.
- Connect the BLACK WIRE of the power plug to ground (-) negative. This can be done under any clean metal body bolt or the negative post of the battery.
- Make sure to use a 3-amp inline fuse in the horn circuit for protection.
3. INSTALLATION USING A NEW HORN BUTTON SWITCH:
- Connect the RED WIRE of the power plug to a (+) positive power source such as the battery, alternator, or fuse block.
- Connect the BLACK WIRE of the power plug to the horn switch.
- Connect the other terminal of the horn switch to ground, any clean metal body surface.
- Make sure to use a 3-amp inline fuse in the horn circuit for protection.
Once the wiring is complete, connect the plug to the EE100. Ensure all connections are taped and secured. The horn installation is now complete and ready to be used.
