To connect the Yamaha NS-6490 speakers to your amplifier, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your amplifier is switched off before making any connections.
2. Locate the input terminals at the rear of the speakers.
3. Use the provided speaker cables to connect the input terminals of the speakers to the speaker output terminals of your amplifier or receiver.
4. Connect the positive (+) terminals on both the amplifier and the speakers using one side of the cable. Connect the negative (-) terminals on both components using the other side of the cable.
5. Ensure that you connect one speaker to the left (marked L) terminals of the amplifier and another speaker to the right (marked R) terminals. Make sure not to reverse the polarity (+, -) when connecting the speakers. Reversed polarity can result in unnatural sound and lack of bass.
For the U.S.A. model:
- Remove the insulation coating at the end of each speaker cable by twisting it off.
- Press and hold the terminal's tab, then release your finger to allow it to lock securely on the cable's wire end.
- Test the firmness of the connection by lightly pulling on the cable at the terminal.
For Europe, China, and General models:
- Remove the insulation coating at the end of each speaker cable by twisting it off.
- Loosen the terminal xxxx .
- Insert the bare wire into the terminal.
- Tighten the xxxx to secure the cable.
- Test the firmness of the connection by lightly pulling on the cable at the terminal.
Note: Ensure that the bare speaker wires do not touch each other, as this could damage the speaker or the amplifier.
