To connect the Polk ES20 Signature Elite Bookshelf Speakers to your system, follow these steps:
1. Wire Preparation: Strip 1/2" (12.7mm) of insulation from each of the two conductors of the wire to expose the bare metal. Twist each of the individual conductors into single unfrayed strands.
2. Connect the Wire: Connect the wire from the positive (+) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the red (+) terminal on your speaker. Connect the wire from the negative (-) terminal of your amplifier or receiver to the black (-) terminal on your speaker. Make sure to maintain consistency with the color-coding or indicators on the wire.
3. Binding Posts: To connect the wire to the binding post, unscrew the binding post cap and insert the bare wire into the hole near the base of the binding post. Do not insert the insulated part of the wire into the hole. Tighten the binding post cap until it seats firmly with the wire, but do not over tighten.
4. Connectors: You have several options when choosing connectors for your speaker wires, such as banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire. Choose the connector that suits your preference and connect it to the binding posts following the same procedure as mentioned above.
Note: The Polk ES20 Signature Elite Bookshelf Speakers come with adhesive-backed rubber pads for placement on bookshelves. They can also be wall-mounted using the included wall mount template (speaker cable not included).
