Yes, you can connect your TV to the Onkyo TX-NR696 receiver using an HDMI cable. If your TV supports the ARC function, use the HDMI cable to connect the TV to the ARC-compatible HDMI OUT port on the receiver. Make sure to switch the input on your TV to the HDMI input connected to the receiver. This will allow audio from the TV to be played through the receiver. If you have another TV or projector, you can connect it to the HDMI OUT SUB port on the receiver, but please note that this port is not ARC-compatible. If you have devices with different resolutions connected to the HDMI OUT MAIN and SUB ports, the images will be output with the lower resolution. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a Premium High-Speed HDMI Cable or Premium High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet that is labeled as "PREMIUM Certified Cable" when playing 4K high-quality videos.
