According to the Wolo WOL345 Animal House Electric Horn user manual, here are the installation instructions:
1. Mounting Control Box:
- Select a mounting location that allows easy access to the knobs and controls on the face of the Animal House control box.
- Mount the angle brackets (supplied) to each side of the control box.
- Place the control box in the selected mounting location and mark the location for mounting holes.
- Drill two holes using a 1/8 drill bit and mount the control box with the self-tapping screws provided.
2. Mounting Speaker:
- Select a convenient location in the engine compartment that is dry and safe from the engine's exhaust manifold heat.
- Always face the speaker in a downward position to prevent water from entering.
- Use the speaker's mounting bracket as a template, mark hole locations, and drill using a 1/8 inch drill bit.
- Secure the speaker with the three self-tapping screws provided.
- Make sure the speaker's opening is not blocked by any compartments that could reduce its loudness.
3. Wiring:
- Connect the TWIN BLACK wire to the speaker in the engine compartment. Route the wires through the firewall to the speaker.
- Connect either wire to one of the speaker wires, then connect the remaining wire to the other speaker wire.
- Connect the RED WIRE to the fuse-block or an under-dash wire that has power (+) 12 volts when the ignition is on. Use a 3 amp inline fuse (included in the kit).
- Ground the SINGLE BLACK WIRE by securing it under a bolt in the dashboard area. Ensure the metal surface around the bolt is clean of rust and paint for a good electrical connection.
4. Testing and Operation:
- Turn the vehicle's ignition on to power the Animal House Horn during testing.
- Turn the Animal House Volume xxxx to the right. The red LED power indicator will light up, indicating that the horn is on.
- Depending on the desired sound:
- For animal sounds and chime songs, place the slide switch to the top position (ANIMAL) and use the ANIMAL xxxx to select different sounds. Adjust the volume using the Volume xxxx .
- For siren sounds, place the slide switch in the middle position (SIREN) and use the SIREN xxxx to select different sounds. Adjust the volume using the Volume xxxx .
- For PA (public address) mode, plug the microphone jack into the socket marked MIC, place the slide switch in the bottom position (PA), and turn on the microphone handle switch. Adjust the volume using the Volume xxxx .
