To connect the LANZAR VIBEX6 3-Way Electronic Audio Crossover to your car audio system, follow these steps:
1. Connect the POWER INPUT TERMINAL (12V) to the positive terminal of your vehicle battery or another constant +12V source.
2. Wire the GROUND INPUT TERMINAL to the vehicle's chassis ground.
3. Connect the REMOTE TURN-ON INPUT TERMINAL (REMOTE) to the remote control wire or antenna lead of the source unit for remote ON/OFF.
4. Make sure the POWER INDICATOR lights up when the internal switching power supply is activated and the unit is operational.
5. Connect the LEFT/RIGHT FRONT CHANNEL SIGNAL INPUTS to the front channel output of the source unit.
6. Set the DUAL INPUT SWITCH to "IN" if the source unit has no separate front, rear, or subwoofer channel outputs. Set it to "OUT" if the source unit has independent front and rear channel outputs.
7. Connect the LEFT/RIGHT REAR CHANNEL SIGNAL INPUTS to the rear channel outputs of the source unit. Make sure the DUAL INPUT SWITCH is set to "OUT."
8. Use the LEFT/RIGHT DUAL IN/OUT TERMINALS as an input terminal by connecting it to the subwoofer output of the source unit. Use it as an output terminal by connecting it to the front channel input terminal of another electronic crossover in a multi-crossover system.
9. Set the FRONT CHANNEL HIGH-PASS FREQUENCY SELECTOR to the desired high-pass crossover frequency for the front channel between 32 Hz and 800 Hz (or 320 Hz and SK Hz when the frequency multiplier is at "x10" position).
10. Set the REAR CHANNEL HIGH-PASS FREQUENCY SELECTOR to the desired high-pass crossover frequency for the rear channel between 32 Hz and 800 Hz.
11. Use the FRONT CHANNEL HIGH-PASS FREQUENCY EXTENDER switch at the "x10" position to change the range of selectable crossover frequency for the front channel high-pass from 32 Hz - 800 Hz to 320 Hz - 8K Hz.
12. Set the SUBWOOFER FREQUENCY SELECTOR to the desired low-pass crossover frequency for the subwoofer channel between 50 Hz and 160 Hz.
13. Use the BASS-BOOST FREQUENCY CONTROL to set the frequency (from 40 Hz to 120 Hz) at which the BASS-BOOST circuitry generates frequency boost to equalize the woofer enclosure.
14. Use the BASS-BOOST LEVEL CONTROL to select the boost level (from 0 to +12 dB).
15. Set the PHASE INVERTER switch to the "180" position if you want to shift the subwoofer output signals 180 degrees out-of-phase relative to the front and rear output signals.
16. Use the SUBWOOFER STEREO/MONO SWITCH to select stereo or mono mode for the subwoofer output.
17. Adjust the FRONT CHANNEL OUTPUT GAIN CONTROL for adjusting the front channel output signal level.
18. Connect the LEFT/RIGHT FRONT CHANNEL OUTPUT TERMINALS to the front channel amplifier left/right inputs.
19. Adjust the REAR CHANNEL OUTPUT GAIN CONTROL for adjusting the rear channel output signal level.
20. Connect the LEFT/RIGHT REAR CHANNEL OUTPUT TERMINALS to the rear channel amplifier left/right inputs.
21. Adjust the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT GAIN CONTROL for adjusting the subwoofer channel output signal level.
22. Connect the LEFT/RIGHT SUBWOOFER OUTPUT TERMINALS to the subwoofer channel amplifier left/right inputs.
23. If you want to control the subwoofer output level exclusively with a remote control, connect the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT LEVEL REMOTE CONTROL TERMINAL to the remote control. This will bypass the subwoofer output level control on the unit.
24. Make sure to follow the electrical and audio connections diagrams provided in the manual for different system setups (2-Channel Two-Way System, 4-Channel TRI-AMP System, etc.).
25. Before permanently securing the crossover mounting, perform a noise check and system adjustment as described in the manual to ensure proper operation and sound quality.
