To change the batteries in the Discovery Kids 1017270 LED Starlight Lantern, follow these steps:
1. Locate the battery compartment: The battery compartment is located on the bottom of the lantern.
2. Open the battery compartment: Use a screwdriver or coin to twist and open the battery compartment cover in a counterclockwise direction.
3. Remove the old batteries: Take out the old batteries from the compartment and dispose of them properly according to local regulations.
4. Insert new batteries: Insert three AA batteries into the battery compartment, making sure to align the positive (+) and negative (-) ends correctly.
5. Close the battery compartment: Place the battery compartment cover back onto the lantern and twist it clockwise until it is securely closed.
6. Test the lantern: Turn on the lantern using the switch and check if the new batteries are functioning properly.
Note: The Discovery Kids 1017270 LED Starlight Lantern requires three AA batteries for operation. Please ensure that you use fresh batteries of the same type and replace them when they are depleted to maintain optimal performance.
