To install the JBL CSS8008200 mm (8 in) Commercial Series Ceiling Speakers in a drop ceiling, follow these steps:
1. Determine the location: Decide where you want to install the speakers in the drop ceiling. Make sure the location is suitable for optimal sound distribution.
2. Prepare the ceiling tile: If the drop ceiling tile has a pre-cut hole for the speaker, skip to step 4. Otherwise, measure and mark the desired location on the ceiling tile.
3. Cut the hole: Use a utility knife or a hole saw to carefully cut a hole in the ceiling tile according to the marked location. Be cautious not to damage the surrounding tiles.
4. Install the back can (optional): If you have the optional matching CSS back can, install it in the hole behind the ceiling tile. The back can provides support and improves sound quality.
5. Connect the speaker wires: Strip the ends of the speaker wires and connect them to the corresponding terminals on the speaker. Ensure a secure connection.
6. Mount the speaker: Place the speaker into the hole in the ceiling tile or back can. Align the mounting holes on the speaker with the holes on the ceiling tile or back can.
7. Secure the speaker: Insert the provided metal screws through the mounting holes and tighten them to secure the speaker in place. Ensure the speaker is flush with the ceiling tile.
8. Connect the transformer: If using the transformer, connect the bare wires from the transformer to the corresponding terminals on the speaker. Ensure a secure connection.
9. Test the installation: Once the speakers are installed, connect them to your audio system or amplifier. Test the sound output to ensure proper installation and functionality.
