To replace the batteries in the Munchkin 16047-IS-1 Portable Baby Soother, follow these steps:
1. Twist the timer until it is set to 30.
2. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the base of the device.
3. Unscrew the battery compartment and remove the old batteries.
4. Insert two new AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment, making sure to align them correctly according to the polarity markings.

6. When putting the base back on, align it with the 30 mark to ensure correct orientation.
