To install the Monoprice Carbon Fiber in-Wall Speaker, follow these steps:
1. Determine the installation location on the wall and use a stud finder to ensure there is enough space between the desired location and adjacent studs.
2. Mark the edges of the adjacent studs with a pencil.
3. Use the provided installation template to position it against the wall at the installation location. Use a carpenter's level to ensure it is level.
4. Use a pencil to mark the cut line on the wall.
5. Remove the template and check the cut lines to ensure they are level. Repeat if necessary.
6. Drill a small hole in the middle of the cutout area to check for hidden obstructions behind the wall.
7. Once the installation location is clear, use a drywall or keyhole saw to cut along the marked cut lines.
8. Prepare your speaker wire according to the guidelines in the manual.
9. Route the speaker wire from the back of your amplifier through the wall to the installation location.
10. Completely remove the grille from the speaker.
11. Connect the positive and negative wires to the corresponding push terminals on the back of the speaker.
12. Give a gentle tug on each lead to ensure they are securely connected.
13. Position the speaker into the hole and use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the mounting screws, turning the mounting tabs outward until the speaker is secure. Do not over-tighten.
14. Ensure your amplifier is powered off and unplugged.
15. Connect the amplifier end of the speaker wire to one of the speaker level outputs on your amplifier, matching the polarity markings.
16. Congratulations, your speaker is now installed and ready for use!
