To set up and assemble the Audio-Technica AT-LP7 turntable, follow these steps:
1. Placing the Platter:
- Set the platter on the spindle, aligning the positions of the spindle and the platter's hole.
- Attach the belt to the platter first, and then attach it to the motor pulley. Make sure the belt does not get twisted.
2. Leveling the Turntable:
- Position the turntable on a level surface.
- Adjust the feet to ensure the turntable is level.
3. Assembling the Tonearm:
- Remove the cable tie used to secure the tonearm during delivery.
- Use the clamp to temporarily secure the tonearm to the tonearm rest.
- Insert the headshell into the tonearm, being careful not to damage the stylus or cut the cartridge's wires.
- Turn the locking ring counterclockwise to secure the headshell.
4. Tonearm Balance and Tracking Force:
- Adjust the tonearm's balance by turning the counterweight until the tonearm is level when the headshell is released.
- Set the tracking force by turning the tracking force gauge ring to align with the recommended tracking force value for your cartridge.
- Adjust the anti-skate control dial to have the same value as the tracking force.
5. Installing/Removing the Dust Cover:
- The dust cover is designed to protect the turntable when not in use. It should remain off while records are playing.
- When putting on or taking off the dust cover, do it slowly.
