To install the Leviton 47605-ACS J-Box Surge Protective Kit, follow these steps:
1. Position the Structured Media Center (SMC) on the wall, ensuring there is enough space for the Junction Box Kit and associated AC wiring.
2. Remove the rectangular knockout in the bottom of the SMC.
3. Remove a cable entry knockout for electrical service to the Junction Box. Use conduit fittings or cable clamps to prepare the cable entry holes for electrical wiring.
4. Install electrical wiring, using an independent 15 Amp circuit to provide power to the Junction Box Kit.
5. Wire the surge suppressor receptacle as shown in Figure 2 of the manual. Make sure to connect the AC NEUTRAL wire to the LINE hole marked "WHITE WIRE" and the AC LINE wire to the LINE hole marked "HOT WIRE". Connect the AC GROUND wire to the GREEN xxxx terminal on the receptacle.
6. Drop the Junction Box housing into the opening in the SMC and attach it with the provided screws.
7. Place the wired receptacle into the housing, ensuring all wiring connections are inside the housing without being pinched or damaged.
8. Attach the receptacle to the Junction Box with the provided screws.
9. Attach the Decora-style wallplate to the mounted receptacle using the provided screws.
10. Use the included safety plugs to keep wire clippings and foreign matter out of the outlets during installation and when not in use.
Please note that it is important to follow all applicable electrical codes and regulations during installation. If you have any technical questions or need further assistance, you can contact Leviton's technical support at the provided phone numbers.
