To install and use the Sangean ANT-60 Short Wave Antenna, follow these steps:
1. Unbox the antenna: The ANT-60 antenna comes in a compact carrying box. Open the box and take out the antenna.
2. Extend the antenna: The ANT-60 antenna can be extended up to a maximum length of 23 feet. Gently pull the antenna wire out of the box, making sure not to tangle or kink it. Extend the wire to the desired length.
3. Connect the antenna: Locate the antenna input jack on your shortwave radio. It is usually labeled as "ANT" or "ANTENNA." Plug the ANT-60 antenna's 3.5mm plug into the antenna input jack of your radio.
4. Position the antenna: Place the antenna in a location that provides the best reception. Experiment with different positions, such as near a window or outside, to find the optimal spot for receiving shortwave signals.
5. Adjust the antenna length: Depending on the frequency you want to receive, you may need to adjust the length of the antenna. As a general rule, the antenna's length should correspond to the length of the longest radio waves you intend to receive. A length of at least one-fourth to one-half of the wavelength is recommended for optimal reception.
6. Fine-tune the radio: Once the antenna is connected and positioned, tune your shortwave radio to the desired frequency. Rotate the radio or adjust its position to find the best signal strength and clarity.
7. Enjoy shortwave listening: With the Sangean ANT-60 Short Wave Antenna properly installed and positioned, you can now enjoy enhanced reception and improved performance on your shortwave radio.
