Connecting the Donner Noise Killer Gate Pedal to your guitar and amplifier is a straightforward process. Here are the steps:
1. Plug your guitar into the input jack of the pedal. The input jack is located on the side of the pedal and is labeled "Input."
2. Connect the output jack of the pedal to your amplifier or other effects. The output jack is also located on the side of the pedal and is labeled "Output."
3. Use a 9V DC adapter to power the pedal. Please note that the power adapter is not included in the package, so you will need to purchase one separately. Make sure to use a 9V DC adapter to prevent damage to the pedal. The power input jack is located on the top of the pedal.
4. Set the controls on the pedal to achieve the desired noise reduction. The two main controls are the Threshold and Decay knobs:
- Threshold Control: This control allows you to set the volume level at which the noise gate engages. Turning the xxxx to the right increases the threshold, meaning the gate will only engage when the input signal reaches a higher volume. Turning it left lowers the threshold, making the gate engage at lower signal levels.
- Decay Control: The Decay control determines the speed at which the sound fades out after crossing the threshold. Increasing the decay time allows for a smoother and more gradual fade-out of the sound, while a shorter decay results in a quicker cut-off.
5. Once you have connected your guitar, amplifier, and power supply, you can test the pedal by playing your guitar and adjusting the settings to achieve the desired noise reduction.
