To program the GE 48843 remote control to operate your TV, you can use the direct code entry method or the auto code search method. Here are step-by-step instructions for both methods:
Direct Code Entry Method:
1. Locate the code list included with the remote control and find the 4-digit code for your TV brand.
2. Press and hold down the SETUP button on the remote until the red light turns on.
3. Press the TV button on the remote (or the corresponding device button for your TV).
4. The red light will blink once and remain on.
5. Enter the first 4-digit code for your TV using the number buttons on the remote.
6. The red light will turn off.
7. Point the remote at your TV and test the buttons to see if they work. If not, repeat steps 2-6 with the next code from the list.
8. Once you find a code that works, make a note of it for future reference.
Auto Code Search Method:
1. Manually turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold down the SETUP button on the remote until the red light turns on.
3. Press the TV button on the remote (or the corresponding device button for your TV).
4. The red light will blink once and remain on.
5. Point the remote at your TV and press the POWER button.
6. The red light will blink and then remain on after cycling through 10 codes.
7. If your TV turns off, press and release the same device button pressed in step 3. Then go to step 9. If your TV does not turn off, proceed to step 8.
8. Manually turn on your TV again.
9. Point the remote at your TV and press the VOL+ button.
10. The red light will blink once and remain on.
11. If your TV turns off, press and release the same device button pressed in step 3. Then go to step 13. If your TV does not turn off, proceed to step 12.
12. Repeat step 11 until your TV turns off. Wait 3 seconds between each VOL+ button press.
13. Use the remote to turn on your TV and test the buttons. If they don't work as expected, repeat steps 2-13.
