To install the Tetra 10 Whisper Air Pump above your aquarium, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location: Place the air pump on a shelf or surface that is at least 12 inches higher than the water level of your aquarium. Make sure the surface has a raised edge to prevent the pump from sliding off.
2. Use a check valve: It is recommended to use a check valve between the pump and the aquarium. This valve helps prevent water from siphoning into the air pump in case of a power failure or when removing filters from the aquarium.
3. Connect the air line tubing: The air line tubing is included with the pump for easy connection. Attach one end of the tubing to the pump nozzle and the other end to the desired air-driven accessory, such as an air stone or air-operated ornament.
4. Optional custom installations: If you have a Whisper Air Pump with two ports, you can use a T-connector for applications that require only one source of air. Place the pump on a separate surface from the tank. Air-control valves can also be used to create multiple air sources and regulate airflow to different tanks, filters, airstones, or air-operated ornaments.
5. Adjust air-control valves: If using air-control valves, adjust them to regulate the airflow to the desired tanks, filters, airstones, or ornaments. On three-way valves, xxxx 1 regulates airflow to nozzle 3, and air flows through outlet 2 unimpeded. Use end-caps at the end of the line.
