To set up the Farm Innovators P-60 Electric Powered Pet Water Bowl, follow these steps:
1. Place the bowl on a hard, flat surface, ensuring it is protected from the wind.
2. Plug the power cord into a fully grounded 120VAC receptacle outlet.
3. Position the bowl in an area that protects it from damage by animals.
4. Fill the bowl with water, making sure not to operate it without water.
5. The product is thermostatically controlled and will only operate when temperatures fall below 35°F.
6. Before using, inspect the product and read all instructions.
For proper operation, it is recommended to test the bowl for proper functioning:
1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Place the bowl outside in the cold (if temperatures are below freezing) for approximately 60 minutes to reset the thermostat.
3. After 60 minutes, immediately plug the unit into a receptacle outlet.
4. If working properly, the heating element will warm up right away, and the inside bottom of the bowl should feel warm. Within a minute, the thermostat should "click" off. This indicates that the bowl is operating correctly.
