Setting up the HP Smart Tank 7301 Wireless All-in-One Cartridge-free Ink Printer is a straightforward process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Unpack the printer: Remove all packaging materials from the printer and make sure to remove any protective tapes or stickers.
2. Connect the power cord: Plug one end of the power cord into the back of the printer and the other end into a power outlet. Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.
3. Install the ink bottles: Open the ink tank cover located on the front of the printer. Take the ink bottles included in the package and remove the caps. Insert the black ink bottle into the left ink tank and the color ink bottles into the remaining ink tanks. Make sure to match the colors correctly.
4. Prime the ink system: Press and hold the Start button on the printer for 3 seconds to start the ink priming process. This will initialize the ink system and ensure proper ink flow.
5. Load paper: Open the input tray located at the back of the printer. Adjust the paper guides to fit the size of the paper you are using. Place the paper into the tray, making sure it is aligned properly. Slide the paper guides snugly against the edges of the paper.
6. Connect to a network: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Setup menu using the touchscreen. Select the Network Setup option and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You can also connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable or Ethernet cable if desired.
7. Install printer software: Insert the installation CD that came with the printer into your computer's CD drive. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary printer software. If you don't have a CD drive, you can download the software from the HP website.
8. Complete the setup: Once the software installation is complete, follow any additional on-screen prompts to finish the setup process. This may include registering your printer, aligning the printheads, and performing a test print.
