To insert the batteries into the Coleman 2000020187 lantern, follow these steps:
1. Unscrew the bottom compartment of the lantern.
2. Insert 4 D-cell batteries into the compartment, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) alignment.
3. xxxx the bottom compartment back onto the lantern securely.
