To install the LOCKDOWN 725721 GoldenRod in your gun safe or cabinet, follow these steps:
1. Open the product's box and ensure that all parts (rod, power cord, legs) are included.
2. Choose a suitable location inside your safe or cabinet where the GoldenRod can be installed without obstructing the contents.
3. Attach the included legs to the GoldenRod to ensure it stands firmly in your safe.
4. Route the power cord through the back of the safe using the quick plug attachment for a tidy installation.
5. Make sure the outlet you are using is accessible and not overloaded before inserting the AC plug into a 110–120 volt power source.
6. Position the GoldenRod away from other devices to optimize its ability to remove moisture.
7. Ensure that the rod is free of any obstacles to promote effective and unhindered air circulation.
8. After plugging it in, check that the rod is working by ensuring it is warming up slightly and there are no strange smells or malfunctions.
9. If the rod is not successfully lowering humidity, consider moving it to a more efficient or airflowing location.
10. For larger safes, consider using a 24" or 36" version of the GoldenRod to ensure proper moisture regulation over the entire area.
11. Make sure the power cord is securely tucked away and does not interfere with the safe door closing.
12. Regularly monitor the dryness of your safe and reposition the rod if necessary.
13. Check for any water buildup around the rod or its electrical parts, as this could lead to failures.
14. Position the rod away from damp areas to help maintain an even moisture balance.
