To use the Hamilton Beach 76606AG Can Opener, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the activation lever is pulled all the way UP and in the UNLOCKED position.
2. Place the can against the front of the can opener and lift it up until the rim is in contact with the undercutting mechanism.
3. Hold the lever down until the can has completed ONE ROTATION ONLY.
4. The motor will not automatically stop or lift the lid when the can has opened. When the motor sound shifts to a higher pitch, it indicates that the can is open.
5. Carefully lift the lid up to remove it.
6. If you need to store the cord, unplug the unit and push the cord into the small hole on the back of the unit. To pull the cord out, pull up and then out.
Note: The can opener cuts the side around the top of the can, leaving a smooth, safe-to-touch edge. It is designed to open standard-size cans and cans with pop-top lids. It is not recommended for use with pressurized (aerosol-type) cans or cans of flammable liquids.
