The hand crank on the Esky emergency weather radio needs to be rotated for one minute at a speed of 130 rotations per minute (RPM) in order to provide 6 minutes of radio usage or 18 minutes of flashlight usage. However, please note that the purpose of the hand crank is to acquire enough charge in the battery to power the radio for weather announcements or to charge a phone sufficiently to make a call, not to fully charge the device. For a full charge, it is recommended to use the micro USB port to connect the radio to a power source, which takes approximately 3 to 5 hours.
