To change the game mode on the Educational Insights EI-8435 BrainBolt Electronic Game, follow these steps:
1. Start by sliding the Power Switch from DEMO to PLAY. The board will light up three times accompanied by audio.
2. The default mode is Solo Player: Standard Mode. If you want to play in this mode, you can skip to step 3. Otherwise, continue to the next step.
3. Press the 1-Player Button. All tiles will flash three times, followed by 3 beeps. One tile will remain lit, indicating that you are now ready to play in Solo Player: Standard Mode.
4. If you want to play in Solo Player: Advanced Mode, press the "+" button after selecting the Solo Player mode. The game will continue similarly to the Solo Player Standard Mode, but with a different play pattern when only four light tiles remain in the sequence.
5. If you prefer Timed Mode, slide the Power Switch to PLAY and wait for the tiles around the edge to light clockwise from the noon position. In this mode, you have 45 seconds to complete the entire board. You will receive a 10-second warning sound, and when time is up, an alarm sound will play.
6. If you want to play in Two Player: Standard Mode, slide the Power Switch to PLAY and wait for alternate halves of the board to flash. One edge will flash to indicate which player goes first. In this mode, the opposing player earns one point when the other player makes a mistake and ends a game. The first player to reach 5 points wins.
7. If you prefer Two Player: Advanced Mode, follow the same steps as Two Player: Standard Mode, but the sequence of lights will be the same as in Solo Player: Advanced Mode.
