Cleaning the air stone and tubing of the VIVOSUN 5-Inch Air Pump is important to prevent clogging and maintain optimal airflow. Here's how you can clean them:
1. Air Stone Cleaning:
- Remove the air stone from the aquarium or hydroponic system.
- Soak the air stone in a container filled with water for at least two hours. This helps to loosen and remove any mineral deposits or debris.
- After soaking, gently scrub the air stone with a brush to remove any remaining buildup.
- Rinse the air stone thoroughly with clean water to ensure all debris is removed.
- Reattach the air stone to the airline tubing and place it back into the aquarium or hydroponic system.
2. Tubing Cleaning:
- Disconnect the airline tubing from the air pump and air stone.
- Fill a container with a mixture of water and mild soap or aquarium-safe cleaning solution.
- Submerge the tubing in the container and let it soak for a few minutes.
- Use a brush or pipe cleaner to scrub the inside of the tubing, removing any dirt or debris.
- Rinse the tubing thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.
- Reattach the tubing to the air pump and air stone.
