To set up the Gesobyte Amplified HD Digital TV Antenna, follow these steps:
1. Confirm the available channels in your location by visiting http://dtv.gov/maps. This will provide valuable information about the channels you can receive.
2. Keep in mind that large impediments such as valleys, mountains, and other natural features can restrict the effective range of the antenna.
3. After repositioning the antenna, always remember to re-scan for channels to ensure you are receiving the best signal.
4. If you want more detailed information, you can use the "TVFool" website, which provides graphs of theoretical signal strength and the locations of broadcast towers.
5. If your residence is very close to the broadcast tower (within 35 miles) and has a very strong signal, it is recommended to turn off the amplifier.
6. Hang the antenna from a window, as this is strongly recommended for optimal reception.
7. Experiment with different locations and raise the antenna as high as possible, depending on your specific location.
8. Attach the television antenna to the 'Ant In' port on the back of any HDTV.
