Threading the needle on the Brother XR9550 sewing machine is made easy with its automatic needle threader. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Raise the presser foot lever to release the tension on the thread.
2. Turn off the machine and make sure the needle is in its highest position by rotating the handwheel towards you.
3. Take the thread spool and place it on the spool pin at the top of the machine. Make sure the thread is unwinding in the correct direction (refer to the user manual for specific instructions).
4. Pull the thread from the spool and pass it through the thread guide located at the top of the machine.
5. Continue to guide the thread down and around the tension dial, following the threading path indicated on the machine.
6. Bring the thread down and pass it through the thread guide located above the needle.
7. Thread the needle from front to back, leaving a tail of thread about 6 inches long.
8. Lower the presser foot lever to secure the thread.
9. Hold the thread tail with your left hand and turn the handwheel towards you to lower the needle into the needle plate.
10. Locate the automatic needle threader lever on the left side of the needle.
11. Pull the lever down and a small hook will come out through the needle eye.
12. Insert the thread tail into the hook from left to right, and then release the lever slowly.
13. The hook will pull the thread through the needle eye. Grab the thread tail and pull it out from the back of the needle.
14. Trim any excess thread.
Please note that these instructions are a general guide. For more specific details and illustrations, refer to the user manual that came with your Brother XR9550 sewing machine.
