To install the OBDLink LX OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner, follow these steps:
1. Download and install the OBDLink app on your Android device. You can scan the QR code or visit the URL provided in the Quick Start Guide to download the app.
2. Locate the diagnostic link connector (DLC) in your vehicle. The DLC is usually found on the driver's side, under the dash.
3. Plug the LX Bluetooth into the DLC.
4. Turn the ignition to the Key On, Engine Off position.
5. Check the LEDs on the OBDLink LX. The 'POWER' LED should turn on, and the 'BT' LED should start flashing slowly. If the LEDs are off, check your vehicle for blown fuses.
6. Open the 'Settings' app on your Android device and enable Bluetooth.
7. Tap 'Bluetooth - Pair with a device' in the Bluetooth settings.
8. Press the 'Connect' button on the OBDLink LX. The 'BT' LED will switch to a fast blink.
9. You must complete steps 7, 8, and 9 within 2 minutes. If you need more time, press the button again.
10. Wait for the OBDLink LX to appear on the 'Available devices' list on your Android device. If it doesn't show up, tap 'Scan' to search for it.
11. Tap 'OBDLink LX' in the 'Available devices' list to pair the device.
12. Tap 'OK' in the 'Bluetooth pairing request' dialog.
13. The OBDLink LX will now appear as 'Paired'.
14. Launch the OBDLink app on your Android device and tap 'Connect'.
15. Choose 'Bluetooth' as the connection type.
16. Choose 'OBDLink LX' from the list of available devices.
17. Once the app establishes a connection with the OBDLink LX, the 'BT' LED on the device will turn on solid. You can now tap 'Diagnostics' in the app to start a scan.
