To adjust the chain tension on the Sun Joe SWJ800E electric pole chain saw, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the saw from the power supply and wait until the saw completely stops.
2. Using the hex key Allen wrench + blade screwdriver (supplied with the saw), loosen the sprocket cover bolt and remove the sprocket cover.
3. Locate the chain tensioner xxxx on the side of the guide bar.
4. Turn the chain tensioner xxxx clockwise to tighten the chain or counterclockwise to loosen the chain.
5. Check the chain tension by pulling up on the chain at the center of the guide bar. The chain should lift slightly off the guide bar, but still be snug against the bottom of the guide bar.
6. Once the desired tension is achieved, tighten the chain tensioner xxxx securely.
7. Replace the sprocket cover and tighten the sprocket cover bolt using the hex key wrench.
It is important to regularly check the chain tension before each use and adjust as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation of the pole chain saw.
