To connect the Xbox WL3-00120 Wireless Controller to your Xbox console, follow these steps:
1. Power on your Xbox console.
2. Ensure that the controller has batteries inserted or is charged if using a rechargeable battery pack.
3. Press and hold the Xbox button located at the center of the controller to power it on. The Xbox button will light up, indicating that the controller is on.
4. On the Xbox console, press the sync button located on the front of the console. For Xbox One consoles, it is a small button located near the disc tray. On Xbox Series X/S consoles, it is a small button located on the front panel, near the USB ports.
5. On the controller, press and hold the sync button located near the top of the controller, above the USB port. The Xbox button will start blinking rapidly.
6. Within 20 seconds of pressing the sync button on the console, press the sync button on the controller. The Xbox button will flash a few times, and then it will stay lit, indicating that the controller is connected to the console.
If you're connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC, you can use Bluetooth or a wireless adapter. To connect via Bluetooth, make sure your PC has Bluetooth capabilities and is in pairing mode. Press and hold the sync button on the controller until the Xbox button starts blinking. Then, go to your PC's Bluetooth settings, search for available devices, and select the Xbox Wireless Controller to pair.
Once the controller is connected, it should be ready to use. You can navigate menus, control games, and interact with various functions using the buttons and thumbsticks on the controller.
Note: The controller may require firmware updates from time to time. You can update the controller's firmware using the Xbox Accessories app on an Xbox console or Windows 10 PC.
Remember to turn off the controller when not in use to conserve battery life. To power off the controller, press and hold the Xbox button until the controller vibrates and the Xbox button turns off.
