Setting up and calibrating the AcuRite 01036M Professional Weather Center is a straightforward process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Unpack the weather center and remove all packaging materials.
2. Place the display unit in a convenient location indoors where it is easily visible.
3. Insert the batteries into the display unit. The weather center requires 6 AA batteries (not included).
4. Connect the included AC power adapter to the display unit if you prefer to use it instead of batteries.
5. Press and hold the "SET" button on the display unit for 3 seconds to enter the setup mode.
6. Use the up and down arrows to select the desired language and press the "SET" button to confirm.
7. Set the time by using the up and down arrows to adjust the hour, minute, and AM/PM settings. Press the "SET" button after each adjustment.
8. Press the "SET" button again to enter the date setup mode. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the month, day, and year. Press the "SET" button after each adjustment.
9. Once the time and date are set, the display unit will search for the outdoor sensor. Place the sensor outdoors in a location protected from direct sunlight and precipitation. The sensor should be within 330 feet (100 meters) of the display unit.
10. Wait for the display unit to establish a connection with the outdoor sensor. This may take a few minutes. Once the connection is established, the outdoor temperature and humidity will be displayed.
11. To calibrate the outdoor temperature, press and hold the "SET" button for 3 seconds to enter the calibration mode. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature offset. Press the "SET" button to confirm.
12. To calibrate the indoor temperature and humidity, press and hold the "SET" button for 3 seconds to enter the calibration mode. Use the up and down arrows to adjust the temperature and humidity offsets. Press the "SET" button to confirm.
13. The weather center is now set up and calibrated. You can navigate through the different weather information screens using the arrow buttons.
