To clean the filter of the Stanley SL18129 Wet or Dry Vacuum, follow these steps:
1. Turn off and unplug the vacuum from the power source.
2. Remove the power head assembly from the tank.
3. Locate the filter cover and unscrew it from the filter cage.
4. Lift off the filter from the cage.
5. If the filter is wet, run water through it from a hose or spigot. Be careful not to use strong water pressure that could damage the filter.
6. If the filter is dry and has accumulated dust, clean it in an open area outdoors. Gently tap the filter against the inside wall of the dust tank to remove the dry debris.
7. For thorough cleaning of the dry filter with fine dust, you can run water through it as described in step 5.
8. After cleaning, check the filter for tears or small holes. Do not use a filter with holes or tears as it can affect the vacuum's performance. Replace it immediately if damaged.
9. Once the filter is clean and dry, slide it back onto the filter cage.
10. xxxx the filter cover back onto the filter cage and tighten it securely.
11. Reassemble the power head assembly onto the tank.
12. Your vacuum is now ready to use with a clean filter for optimal suction power.
