To set up the ASUS RP-N12 Wireless-N300 Range Extender using Method One (Quick Setup with WPS), please follow these steps:
1. Power on the range extender by plugging it into a power outlet near your router.
2. Wait for the Wi-Fi LED on the range extender to start blinking green.
3. Press the WPS button on your router or access point (AP).
4. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the RP-N12 range extender.
5. The Wi-Fi LED on the range extender will flash for about two minutes and then turn solid green or red. The color of the LED indicates the Wi-Fi signal strength.
- Green: Best Wi-Fi extender performance
- Red: Poor Wi-Fi extender performance
- Off: Range extender not connected to a router/AP
Note: Make sure your router/AP supports WPS. If not, you can use Method Two for setup.
6. After the Wi-Fi LED turns solid green, place the range extender in an ideal location. It will automatically connect to your router/AP within one minute.
- For the best extender performance, place the RP-N12 between your router/AP and wireless device.
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi LED on the range extender is green for optimal performance.
7. Enjoy! Your RP-N12's wireless network name (SSID) will change to your existing Wi-Fi network name, ending with "_RPT," and it will share your router/AP's wireless password.
