To connect the Monoprice 33832 Premium 5.1.4-Ch. Immersive Home Theater System to your amplifier/receiver, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the speaker wire: Cut each length of wire to size and strip about 3/8" of insulation from the wire end. Twist the exposed wire to prevent stray strands.
2. Connecting the Immersive Satellite Speakers:
a. Connect the white/negative side of the wire to the white/negative spring-loaded binding post labeled FRONT/REAR INPUT on the back of each Immersive satellite speaker.
b. Connect the red/positive side of the wire to the red/positive spring-loaded binding post labeled FRONT/REAR INPUT on the back of each Immersive satellite speaker.
c. Connect the white/negative side of the wire to the white/negative OUTPUT connection for each speaker position on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
d. Connect the red/positive side of the wire to the red/positive OUTPUT connection for each speaker type on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
e. Repeat steps a-d for each Immersive satellite speaker.
3. Connecting the Satellite and Center Speakers:
a. Connect the white/negative side of the wire to the white/negative spring-loaded binding post on the back of each satellite and center speaker.
b. Connect the red/positive side of the wire to the red/positive spring-loaded binding post on the back of each satellite and center speaker.
c. Connect the white/negative side of the wire to the white/negative connection for each speaker type on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
d. Connect the red/positive side of the wire to the red/positive connection for each speaker type on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
e. Repeat steps a-d for each satellite and center speaker.
4. Connecting the Subwoofer:
a. If your amplifier/receiver has a dedicated subwoofer output:
i. Insert the two RCA plugs at one end of a cable into the two RCA input jacks on the back of the subwoofer.
ii. Insert the single RCA plug at the other end of the cable into the subwoofer output jack on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
b. If your amplifier/receiver has stereo preamplifier outputs:
i. Insert the white/negative side of one end of a stereo RCA patch cable into the white/negative RCA jack on the back of the subwoofer.
ii. Insert the red/positive side of one end of the cable into the red/positive RCA jack on the back of the subwoofer.
iii. Insert the white/negative side of the other end of the cable into the white/negative pre-amplifier RCA jack on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
iv. Insert the red/positive side of the other end of the cable into the red/positive pre-amplifier RCA jack on the back of the amplifier/receiver.
c. If your amplifier/receiver lacks a dedicated subwoofer output and pre-amp outputs:
i. Connect the white/negative side of one speaker wire to the white/negative left channel spring-loaded terminal on the back of the subwoofer.
ii. Connect the red/positive side of the wire to the red/positive left channel spring-loaded terminal on the back of the subwoofer.
iii. Connect the white/negative side of the other end of the speaker wire to the white/negative left channel output for the Front/Main speakers on the back of the amp.
iv. Connect the red/positive side of that end of the wire to the red/positive left channel output for the Front/Main speakers on the back of the amp.
v. Repeat steps i-iv for the right channel connection.
5. Once all connections have been made, check the volume levels of the amplifier/receiver and the subwoofer, setting them to the minimum as necessary. Plug in and power on all equipment, including the subwoofer.
Note: It's important to double-check the speaker wire connections, ensure correct polarity, and inspect for any stray wire strands. If you encounter any issues, refer to the troubleshooting section in the user manual or contact Monoprice Customer Service for assistance.
