The installation process for the JBL Professional Control 40CS/T Subwoofer is as follows:
1. Cut the Hole: Use the provided cardboard cutout template to trace the cutout hole onto your ceiling surface. Use a circular cutter set to the specified cutout size (12.1 inches in diameter) to cut out the hole. Pull the wiring through the cutout hole.
2. Insert Backing Hardware: The Control 40CS/T Subwoofer comes with a C-shaped backing-plate bracket and two tile rails. For suspended ceilings, insert the C-plate through the hole cut in the ceiling tile. Place the C-plate around the hole with the tabs pointing upwards. Insert the tile rails through the cut hole in the ceiling tile and snap them into the tabs in the C-plate. Secure the rails onto the C-bracket tabs with screws. If you have a non-suspended ceiling, you can use the C-bracket by itself to shore up the ceiling material.
3. Wiring Instructions: The Control 40CS/T Subwoofer has Euroblock locking input connectors. Strip the insulation back about 5 mm and insert the bare ends of the wire into the connector. xxxx down the hold-down xxxx until tight using a small flat blade screwdriver. Connect the wired Euroblock connector to the input terminal cover on the subwoofer.
4. Hookup Schemes for Subwoofer-Satellite Systems: The Control 40CS/T Subwoofer can be used with the Control 42C Ultra-Compact Satellite loudspeakers to create a subwoofer-satellite system. Connect the Control 42C satellites to the satellite output connectors on the subwoofer. The system can be driven via a 70V/100V distributed line or in low-impedance direct mode.
