To install the EVGA PowerLink on your NVIDIA Founders Edition graphics card, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the default configuration of the PowerLink fits your specific video card.
2. Attach both 8-Pin headers on the PowerLink to your power supply unit (PSU). It is recommended to use both 8-Pin connectors to prevent under-power situations.
3. Attach the PowerLink to your graphics card. The power connectors should seat the same as a cable from the PSU.
4. If a configuration change is necessary for your video card, verify the connectors needed for your PowerLink to connect to your video card.
5. Remove the rubber covers from the PowerLink.
6. Use the included 1.3mm Allen wrench to loosen the front and rear fasteners holding the connector you need to remove or change. Remove the connector(s).
7. If you are removing a connector because your video card only has a single power connector, you can reattach the rubber covers and install the PowerLink. If you need to install different connector(s), attach the included connector to the PowerLink and tighten the fasteners.
8. Ensure that you tighten both sides of the PowerLink with the included Allen wrench to avoid alignment issues and connection problems.
9. If using only one power connector, tighten down the empty slot to prevent sliding.
10. The connectors on the PowerLink can move to accommodate different card spacing. Align it with the card's power connectors and tighten the fasteners while the connector is in place to avoid alignment issues.
11. It is important to note that plugging in both 8 pins on a single 6 or 8-pin card will not overpower the card. The card will only pull the power it needs for a given job.
12. The power adapters on the PowerLink can only be installed in one direction. Do not attempt to reverse the direction of the power connectors.
