Installing the StarTech.com HDBOOST4K HDMI Signal Booster is a straightforward process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Determine where you want your video source to be located and set up your HDMI video source as instructed by its documentation.
2. Determine where you want your display to be located within 115 ft. (35 m) of your video source and set up your HDMI display as instructed by its documentation.
3. Connect an HDMI cable (up to 50 ft. in length, sold separately) from the output of your video source to the HDMI input port of the signal booster.
4. Connect an HDMI cable (up to 65 ft. in length, sold separately) from the HDMI output port of the signal booster to the HDMI input on your display.
5. Turn on your HDMI video source and your HDMI display. Your video source will now be shown on the display.
Important Notes:
- The maximum supported resolution and cable length vary depending on your extension distance. Please refer to the table in the manual for supported resolutions and cable lengths.
- The HDMI cable connected to your video source must be shorter than or equal to the length of the cable connected to your display.
- The maximum supported video source cable length is 115 ft. (35 m), and the maximum supported display cable length is 50 ft. (15 m).
- While the HDMI booster has a power adapter port, no power adapter is required. However, if you're using a low-powered HDMI source, such as the HDMI output on a Mac Mini computer, using a power adapter may improve the signal distance.
