To install the Acoustic Audio CSIC84 Frameless in Ceiling Speakers, follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Determine the mounting location for the speakers in your ceiling. It is recommended to consult a professional audio specialist or building contractor if you are unsure about the correct installation techniques or speaker wiring to use.
2. Use a stud sensor or knock on the ceiling to locate the ceiling joists. Make sure to avoid placing the speaker cutout directly next to a joist.
3. Before cutting into the wall, inspect the location where the speakers will be installed to avoid drilling through existing wires, pipes, or structures. If you encounter extra resistance while drilling, stop immediately.
4. Use special jacketed cables to run the loudspeaker wires inside walls or ceilings for protection and fire prevention.
5. Drill a cutout hole for each speaker at the determined installation location.
6. Route the loudspeaker wire to the input connectors at each speaker location. Separate the wire so that at least 2 inches of each conductor are free. Strip away 1/4 inch of insulation from each individual loudspeaker wire.
7. Press down each spring-loaded connector one at a time, insert the appropriate conductor, and then release the connector. Make sure the conductor is making contact with the stripped wire and not the wire jacket. Gently tug on the wire to ensure it is held in place.
8. Observe correct polarity by connecting the positive (+) wire to the red post and the negative (-) wire to the black post.
9. Carefully hold the loudspeaker with both hands and angle it slowly into the cutout hole until the frame is flush with the ceiling. Use a drill to begin mounting the speaker, being careful not to push against the woofer or tweeter.
10. Tighten the four screws using low torque and low speed to avoid damaging the loudspeaker. This should pull the frame and mount together, sandwiching the drywall and ensuring there are no gaps between the wall and the frame.
11. Install the grille by pushing it evenly into the hole until it snaps in place.
12. Connect the other end of each loudspeaker wire to the receiver or amplifier, ensuring correct polarity.
13. Turn on the receiver or amplifier and test all the loudspeakers in the system.
