Installing the Garmin Striker Plus 4 with Dual-Beam transducer on your boat is a straightforward process. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a suitable location on your boat's hull to mount the transducer. It should be in a location that provides a clear view of the water and is free from any obstructions.
2. Prepare the Transducer Mounting Bracket: Attach the transducer mounting bracket to the transducer using the provided screws. Ensure that it is securely fastened.
3. Clean the Hull Surface: Clean the chosen mounting location on the boat's hull using a mild detergent or rubbing alcohol. This will ensure proper adhesion of the transducer.
4. Apply the Transducer Mounting Adhesive: Apply a thin layer of the included transducer mounting adhesive to the mounting location on the hull. Spread it evenly using a plastic spatula or similar tool.
5. Attach the Transducer: Carefully place the transducer onto the adhesive, ensuring that it is aligned properly. Apply gentle pressure to ensure good contact between the transducer and the hull.
6. Secure the Transducer: Use the provided screws to secure the transducer mounting bracket to the hull. Tighten the screws firmly, but be careful not to overtighten and damage the hull.
7. Connect the Transducer Cable: Route the transducer cable to your fishfinder unit. Connect the transducer cable to the appropriate port on the back of the fishfinder unit.
8. Power On and Test: Power on your Garmin Striker Plus 4 fishfinder and navigate to the sonar menu. Verify that the transducer is functioning correctly and displaying sonar readings.
