To install the JBL Control 16C/T ceiling loudspeakers, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Cut the Hole - Cut out a circular hole in the ceiling according to the specified cutout size for the Control 16C/T (225 mm or 8.8 inches in diameter).
Step 2: Insert Backing Hardware - Insert the provided C-shaped backing-plate bracket or tile rails through the cut hole in the ceiling tile. Secure the rails onto the C-bracket tabs by inserting screws through each tab into the rail.
Step 3: Connect the Wiring - Strip the insulation of the wire about 5 mm (3/16 inch) and insert the bare end of the wire fully into the removable locking connector. xxxx down the hold-down xxxx until tight using a small flat-blade screwdriver.
Step 4: Open the Strain Relief Fitting / Terminal Cover - Loosen the screws holding the fitting's sliding piece of the input-terminal cover and slide the cover open.
Step 5: Plug the Connector - Plug the connector into the connector socket in the speaker's terminal cup.
Step 6: Tighten the Strain Relief Fitting & Close the Terminal Cover - Tighten the two horizontal screws to slide and tighten the strain relief fitting. Then tighten the two set screws into the backcan.
Step 7: Insert the Speaker Into the Ceiling and Tighten it - Insert the speaker into the ceiling until the front baffle rim touches the ceiling. Turn the attachment screws to tighten the mounting tabs, following the specified tightening directions in the manual.
Step 8: Adjust Tap Selector - Adjust the tap selector rotary switch located on the front baffle to set the desired impedance or distributed system tap settings.
Step 9: Insert the Grille - Press the grille into place until the front of the grille is flush with the rim. Make sure the grille is securely seated to prevent it from vibrating loose.
