To install the OSD Audio LS2 speakers, you will need the following tools: drill, hammer/mallet, knife, Phillips screwdriver, wire cutter, measuring tape, volume control (optional), silicon cable connectors (optional), speaker wire/direct burial wire.
1. Mounting Options: The OSD Audio LS2 speakers can be mounted on the ground, on a wall, or on the ceiling. Choose the appropriate mounting option based on your installation needs.
2. Speaker Assembly: Before installation, make sure to assemble the speakers according to the instructions provided in the manual.
3. Placement: Designate the general listening area where the speakers would be most ideal. The speakers should face the listening area and be placed within 20 feet of the general listening area for optimum performance.
4. Connection: Using a stereo receiver or multi-channel amplifier, connect the speakers. The red lead indicates a positive signal (+), and the black lead indicates a negative signal (-). Make sure to connect the positive and negative leads correctly to avoid weak performance.
5. System Diagrams: The manual provides system diagrams for different configurations, including combining the LS2 with the GLS8 In-Ground Subwoofer or creating multi-speaker systems using amplifiers and series-parallel wiring. Consult the diagrams for reference and follow the instructions accordingly.
6. Specifications: The OSD Audio LS2 speakers have the following specifications: driver - 2.5" full range, power - 30 watts max, frequency response - 200Hz to 20kHz, sensitivity - 88 dB, impedance - 8 Ohm.
