To set up the La Crosse Technology WT-3102S Atomic Wall Clock, follow these steps:
1. Select Time Zone and DST settings: Before inserting the battery, make sure to set the correct time zone and Daylight Saving Time (DST) settings. This ensures that the clock will display the accurate time.
2. Insert 1 AA battery: Open the Battery Compartment and insert 1 AA battery. Make sure to observe the correct polarity (+ and -) when inserting the battery.
3. Atomic Time Signal search: Once the battery is inserted, the clock's hands will move to the 12 o'clock position and start searching for the WWVB Atomic Time Signal. This process can take up to 8 minutes. If no signal is found, the clock will run from 12:00. The clock will continue to search for the atomic time signal, and it may take up to 5 nights for the clock to receive the transmission.
4. Manual Set Time: If the clock does not receive the atomic time signal or if you want to manually set the time, follow these steps:
a. Hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter the manual set mode.
b. Press and hold the SET button again to move the clock hands quickly.
c. Press and release the SET button to move the clock hands forward step by step.
Note: If the atomic time signal is received in the future, it will override your manual setting.
5. Additional buttons: The clock also has other buttons for specific functions:
- RESET button: If the clock does not respond when trying to manually set the time, press the RESET button once. The clock will move the hands to the 12 o'clock position and start searching for the WWVB Signal again.
- WAVE button: Pressing the WAVE button initiates the atomic signal search manually.
It's important to note that in certain areas, the clock may not be able to receive the WWVB reception due to signal strength or interference. In such cases, you can set the clock manually until the atomic time signal can be received.
