If you need to inflate a completely flat tire, it may be possible that the seal between the tire and wheel rim is broken. In this case, you may need to jack up the car first to allow the seal to be made before inflation. Here are the steps to inflate a completely flat tire using P.I. AUTO STORE PIAS002 Tire Inflator :
1. Completely remove the power cable and air hose from the unit, making sure there are no tangles.
2. Firmly push the 12V connector into the vehicle's cigarette lighter or other outlet. Start the vehicle engine. If using the P.I. Auto Store power converter, connect it to an AC supply and then connect the inflator to the female cigarette lighter plug.
3. Remove the tire valve cap. For bicycle tires, xxxx on the presta adaptor onto the valve.
4. Push the snap-on connector onto the valve stem hard with one hand and pull the lever down with the other hand to clamp onto the valve and make an air seal. The tire pressure will now be displayed on the LCD. If the pressure is not displayed, release the lever and try again, pushing down harder before pulling the lever down.
5. Press the 'M' button to choose between units (Psi, bar, Kpa).
6. Press the '+' or '-' button for 2 seconds or until the display flashes. Use the '+' or '-' button to set the desired pressure. This pressure will be stored in memory until you change it. After a few seconds, the LCD will display the actual tire pressure again.
7. Switch the pump on by pressing the 'ON/OFF' button. The pump will inflate until the set pressure is reached.
8. If the pressure in the tire is higher than the set pressure, the compressor will not start. If this happens, back off the connector to release air from the tire until the pressure is lower than the set pressure.
9. When the pump stops, remove the connector by lifting up the lever. Replace the tire valve cap.
10. If the second tire is to be inflated to the same pressure, fit the snap-on connector to the valve. Press either the '+' or '-' button to switch the compressor on. It will stop at the same pressure.
11. If the next tire is to be inflated to a different pressure, use the '+' or '-' buttons as before to change the set pressure.
12. When all tires are inflated, press the 'ON/OFF' button to turn off the compressor.
13. After use, carefully fold away the power cable and hose into the housing and put the device back into the carry case.
