The Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers can be charged in a few different ways. Here are the options:
1. Directly with the Nintendo Switch AC Adapter: Connect the USB plug from the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) to the USB connector on the bottom of the console. Then, connect the AC adapter directly to a wall outlet. This method allows you to charge the Joy-Con controllers even while playing.
2. Using the Nintendo Switch Dock: Connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) to the Nintendo Switch dock (HAC-007) or the Nintendo Switch dock with LAN port (HEG-007). Open the back cover of the dock and connect the USB plug from the AC adapter into the top terminal of the dock labeled AC Adapter. Close the cover. Dock the Nintendo Switch console, ensuring that the LCD screen is facing the same direction as the front panel of the dock. Then, connect the Nintendo Switch AC adapter into the wall outlet. This method also charges the Joy-Con controllers while the console is docked.
It's important to note that the Joy-Con controllers can also be charged using a separate charging grip, which is not included in the box. The charging grip allows you to attach the Joy-Con controllers to it and charge them simultaneously. However, it's worth mentioning that the Joy-Con controllers come with a built-in battery that can last up to 20 hours on a full charge, depending on usage and settings. So, you may not need to charge them frequently.
