Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions to set up the NETGEAR XRM570 Gaming Router and Mesh WiFi System:
1. Place your extender in the same room as your router for the initial setup. You can move it to a new location later.
2. Set up your router:
a. Remove the antenna caps from the antenna ports on the back of the router.
b. Attach and position the antennas for optimal WiFi performance.
c. Unplug your modem, remove and reinsert the backup battery (if applicable), and plug the modem back in.
d. Use the Ethernet cable to connect the modem to the yellow Internet port on the router. If you don't have a modem, connect your main Ethernet cable to the yellow Internet port.
e. Power on your router and extender by connecting the power adapters and plugging them into outlets. The Power LED on the router and the Power LED on the extender should light up.
f. Wait for the extender to automatically connect with your router. The LEDs on the front of the extender will blink white during this process. When the extender successfully connects with your router, only the Router Link LED will remain lit.
g. Use the Router Link LED to determine the connection status between your extender and router: solid white (best connection), solid amber (good connection), solid red (poor connection), or off (no connection).
3. Finish setting up your WiFi network using one of the following methods:
a. Set up your network with the router web interface:
- Make sure the Router Link LED on your extender is lit.
- Make sure the LED on the WiFi On/Off button on your router is lit.
- Look for the sticker on your router that displays your router's WiFi network name and password.
- Use the WiFi network name and password on the sticker to connect your WiFi-enabled computer or mobile device to your router's WiFi network.
- Launch a web browser and the installation assistant should automatically display. If not, visit www.routerlogin.net.
- Follow the prompts to finish setting up your network. The Internet LED on the router will light up white when connected to the Internet.
b. Set up your network with the Nighthawk app:
- Make sure the Router Link LED on your extender is lit.
- Download the Nighthawk app on your mobile device.
- Make sure the LED on the WiFi On/Off button on your router is lit.
- Look for the sticker on your router that displays your router's WiFi network name and password.
- On your mobile device, open the WiFi connection manager and connect to your router's WiFi network.
- Launch the Nighthawk app and follow the prompts to finish setting up your network. The Internet LED on the router will light up white when connected to the Internet.
4. Find a good spot for your extender:
a. Unplug your extender and move it to a new location, about halfway between your router and the area with a poor WiFi signal.
b. Power on your extender and use the Router Link LED to find a spot where the extender-to-router connection is optimal. Solid white indicates the best connection, solid amber indicates a good connection, solid red indicates a poor connection, and off indicates no connection.
5. Connect your WiFi-enabled devices to the extended network:
- After the setup, your extender will use the same WiFi settings as your router. Use your router's WiFi network name and password to connect your devices to the extended network. It is recommended to enable the Smart Connect feature on your router and the One WiFi Name feature on your extender for a seamless network experience.
