To set up the NETGEAR XR700 Nighthawk Pro Gaming WiFi Router, follow these steps:
1. Position the antennas: For optimal WiFi performance, position the antennas as shown in the Quick Start Guide.
2. Connect your modem: Unplug your modem, remove and reinsert the backup battery (if applicable), and then connect your modem to the yellow Internet port on the router using the Ethernet cable. If you don't have a modem, connect your main Ethernet cable directly to the yellow Internet port on the router.
3. Power on the router: Connect the router to a power source and wait for the Power LED to light up solid white, indicating that the router is ready.
4. Connect to the WiFi network: Make sure the WiFi LED on the router is lit. Look for the sticker on the router that displays your WiFi network name and password. Use a WiFi-enabled computer to connect to the router's WiFi network using the provided credentials.
5. Launch a web browser: Open a web browser on your connected computer. The installation assistant should automatically display. If it doesn't, go to www.routerlogin.net.
6. Follow the prompts: Follow the prompts on the installation assistant to install your router and connect it to the Internet. The Internet LED on the router will light up white when it is successfully connected to the Internet.
