To set up the TP-Link Archer A9 (AC1900) Smart WiFi Router, you can follow the steps outlined in the Quick Installation Guide provided with the product. Here is a summary of the setup process:
1. Connect the Hardware:
- If your internet is from an Ethernet outlet, connect the router's Internet port to the Ethernet outlet.
- Connect the power adapter to the router and turn it on.
- Verify that the 2.4GHz and 5GHz LEDs are solid. If not, press and hold the WPS/Wi-Fi button on the back for more than 2 seconds.
2. Set Up the Network:
Method 1: Via TP-Link Tether App
- Download the TP-Link Tether app on your smartphone.
- Connect your smartphone to the router using the default wireless network names (SSIDs) and passwords printed on the label at the bottom of the router.
- Launch the Tether app, select your model from the local device list, and create a password to log in.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions in the app to set up the internet connection and register for the TP-Link Cloud service.
Method 2: Via a Web Browser
- Connect your device to the router either wired or wirelessly.
- Wired: Turn off Wi-Fi on your computer and connect to the router using an Ethernet cable.
- Wireless: Find the SSID and wireless password printed on the label of the router, then select the SSID to join the network on your device.
- Launch a web browser and enter http://tplinkwifi.net or http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
- Create a password to log in.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions in the web browser to set up the internet connection and register for the TP-Link Cloud service.
3. Access Point Mode (if needed):
If you already have a router and want to extend your network, you can configure the Archer A9 as an access point. Follow the instructions provided in the Quick Installation Guide.
