Sure! Here are the step-by-step instructions for setting up the Chameleon Antenna EMCOMM III Portable Antenna:
1. Select a suitable site: Choose a location that has two trees or supports for the Inverted "L" or Sloping Wire configurations, or one support for the End-Fed Inverted "V" configuration. Ensure that the height and distance between the supports match the length of the Antenna Wire (73 feet).
2. Unwind the Antenna Wire: Remove the Antenna Wire from the Line Winder.
3. Connect the Matching Transformer: Attach a Carabiner to the Isolation Loop on the Wire Connector end of the Antenna Wire. Connect the Wire Connector to the Antenna Connection on the Matching Transformer. Tighten the wing nut finger tight. Hook the Carabiner to the Paracord loop for strain relief.
4. Connect the Counterpoise Wire: Connect the Counterpoise Wire to the Counterpoise Connection on the Matching Transformer. Tighten the wing nut finger tight.
5. Connect the Coaxial Cable Assembly: Connect the Coaxial Cable Assembly to the UHF Socket on the Matching Transformer.
6. Extend the Antenna Wire: Secure the Line Winder to the ground using a short length of Paracord and a Tent Stake. Extend the Antenna Wire to its full length near the desired end point of the antenna.
7. Raise the antenna: Tie a long length of Paracord to the floating Isolation Loop on the Antenna Wire. Loop the free end of the Paracord over the near-end support and raise it to the desired height. Secure the free end of the Paracord to the support. Repeat this step for the end Isolation Loop and the far-end support.
8. Extend the Counterpoise Wire: Extend the Counterpoise Wire on the ground in a mostly straight line in any convenient direction. Secure the end of the Counterpoise Wire to the ground using a Tent Stake.
9. Perform operational tests: Test the antenna to ensure it is functioning properly.
To recover the antenna, follow the recovery procedure outlined in the manual.
